I installed my CDA 9855 this summer. Was all proud of my soldering job, connecting it to the harness pieces that the high-end audio store gave me to connect it to the Z:
BUT, lo and behold, those guys gave me the wrong freakin' connectors! Lesson learned: test connections BEFORE wiring them in, even if obtained from a supposedly knowledgeable source, duh. After a few more misguided attempts to get the head unit in and working with the stock speakers and amps, I finally gave up, military spliced the thing into the existing wiring, and bought myself some new speakers.
Making the splices all nice with shrink tubing before realizing that was going to be pointless - at least my wires were extended and I have a longer length to work with now :-P -
I just got an iPod and the KCA-420i over the weekend - now I have to do some more installing! I may chat you up about it, if ya don't mind. Glad you got yours up and running, and also that it's easy to use the head unit to control the iPod!
